New Jersey property tax assessment appeals (NJ)
How to appeal a property tax assessment in New Jersey: appeals go to your County Board of Taxation, or straight to the Tax Court for assessments over $1 million. In most counties the deadline is April 1, or 45 days after the assessment notices are mailed if later (May 1 after a town-wide revaluation). Burlington, Gloucester and Monmouth counties use an alternate calendar: county board appeals are due January 15, or 45 days after the notice if later, while direct Tax Court appeals over $1 million stay due April 1.
